The Boss Takes a Fall (by Nick Bradley)

I'm gonna tell you this story as I would tell one of my schoolmates, so bear with me on this...

So! Me and my younger brother are chillin on the couch watchin a movie called "The Big Labowski", pretty good flick by the way. So suddenly my eyes are drawn towards the landing above me which I am facing, and I see my dad (aka the boss) suddenly have his legs forced out from under him and take a nasty spill down a flight of stairs.. Needless to say it looked like it hurt, but I'll sayt it anyways, he banged his skull against the wall and railing 4 times, crunched his leg under him, and rode the stairs the whole way down with his rear end. First thing out of my mouth regardless of my animating spirit is, "Oh No!!" We pause the flick and I rush to my boss. His eyes are glazed and he looks like consousness is about to abandon him. I drop to my knees in prayer to my divine father and ask his spirit to grace my father and help him. His eyes come to focus and classically he says to Matt, "Turn off the bath" as it was running at the time, I expect him to groan in pain or say something similar to my first words..(see above sentence involving cencorship) I ask him if he was alright and he doesn't seem to be able to recall the incident at all, and I quote, "One minute I was drinking coffee at the top of the stairs, next minute I'm looking up at Nicky." He laughs at this point. so we sit down and laugh about, all of us being relieved that the boss didn't break a leg, break a skull, gather up some bruises, feel any pain, or altogether get the f#^ck knocked out of him. Now let me tell it through mine gifted eyes. My father did not "fall" in fact the boss was pushed, a force knocked him down the stairs, and an even greater force protected him through his nasty apointment with the stairs, and I don't think they agreed on the business proposal... Alright, now you know that even though we all may doubt and question the great spirit's guidance and protection(I call it the great spirit as the Indians did) he is looking out for all those who made the covenant with life, and those who did in a past life, and those who will make the covenant. Everything happens for a reason (let me explain why and not just sound like some wise pastor trying to buy you off with some cool words) be it because of a past life debt, a life lesson, an outside force, or just something life threw our way. The father looks out for us all, yes you can say "Then why did he let my dog sparky die? Sparky didn't do anything to God!" well news flash for ya, you probably killed someone's dog in a past life, or it needed to teach you something, someone did it on purpose, or life just through it your way. This is a pretty good example of this kinda thing so I can teach you all something, now I hope you learn it now and believe it now when the lesson is easy, or something like what hapened to "Sparky!" may happen to teach you it 'the hard way'. And thats all for now kids, so don't make me come back and have a 16 year old kid lecture you because you were too stubborn to believe the father's grace and guidance extends to us all in some greater or lesser extents.

My son Nick has a pet name for me…our relationship is like that. It’s like that with all the boys, one of terms of endearment…like butthead, dunderhead, retard, and the like.

Hey Nick, you have the gift of writing just like your Dad, and I’m glad to hear the “Boss” is OK! The last part you “sound” like the Boss is talkin’!

Hey Nick…I know, have felt and seen this “push” too.

Reminds me of an evening a few years back.

Was walking home with a big slice of pizza. A rather ugly hall of turd worshiping un-freemasons happened to be on my way. Passed by this one everyday to and from work. Frisky as ever, I decide I’ll sit on the steps, enjoy the slice of deep dish and think away at them. They don’t jive with that, full-moon night notwithstanding…har har ;). Kinda hilarious in hindsight… Hindsight, The only perfect science if you will…That what my beloved Dad Says

Finished up, walked about a block…About 2 from my condo, down a very very steep hill, I was given ye olde shove shall we say….It was a Fred Flintstone moment…Fell face first with my arms un-naturally going backwards and bashing my face, my chin, cheeks and teeth off cold concrete. Should have bled like a stuck hog with sand and gravel in my flesh for years of memories..picking it out and such but not a scratch, rash or otherwise to my delight…I recall feeling jovial actually. I knew what had just taken place in every sense…I knew the force responsible for both the yea and nay had fussed over the aforementioned.

Came out on top…Gave my thanks for that one.

Moving forward, Glad to hear Boss isn’t buckled up with cracked bones or otherwise.

What comes to mind after reading your blather is a song by the Allman Brothers…

Revival.

People can you feel it? Love is everywhere.
People can you hear it? Love is in the air.
We’re in a revolution. Don’t you know we’re right.
Everyone is singing. Yeah! There’ll be no one to fight.
People can you feel it? Love is everywhere.
People can you feel it? Love is everywhere.
People can you feel it? Love is everywhere.
People can you feel it? Love is everywhere.
People can you feel it? Love is everywhere.
People can you feel it? Love is everywhere.
Love is everywhere.
Love is everywhere.
Love is everywhere.
Love is everywhere.
Love is everywhere.
People can you feel it? Love is everywhere.
People can you feel it? Love is everywhere.
People can you feel it? Love is everywhere.
People can you feel it? Love is everywhere.
People can you feel it? Love is everywhere.
People can you feel it? Love is everywhere.
People can you feel it? Love is everywhere.
People can you feel it? Love is everywhere.
